Criteria For Consideration:
- US Citizen
- Enrolled in university or college within the City of Pittsburgh
- Rising undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior in good academic standing as of Spring 2026 and planning to enroll full-time in the Fall Semester 2026
- Declared major in the Field/College of Communications
- 3.0 GPA (overall)
Interested Applicants Must Submit the Following:
1. Completed Application (*requires Google Sign-In)
2. Copy of Spring 2026 transcript (unofficial copies are acceptable)
2. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation:
a. Professor/Advisor
b. Community Leader/Work or Internship Supervisor

- Must be an African American high school senior graduating in 2026
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
- Be involved in school activities and community service
- Plan to enroll as a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school in Fall 2026
Interested Applicants Must Submit the Following:
- A completed Application Form
- One letter of recommendation:
- From a school official (teacher, counselor, or administrator) or a mentor or community organization (mentor, coach, pastor, or employer)
- School transcript, including first-semester senior year grades (a separate senior year report card may also be submitted if necessary)
- An essay (500 words MINIMUM) responding to ONE of two essay prompts.
The scholarship recipient will receive the $1,000 award in Fall 2026 after submitting proof of full-time enrollment at a college, university, or trade school.
Incomplete applications or applicants who do not meet the required criteria will be disqualified.
